In June 2022, Diesis Network organized the exhibition “Transforming spaces through art and culture” in the framework of the Erasmus+ CASYE project. The exhibition was part of the Festival of the New European Bauhaus. It was a photographic exhibition organized, created and set by Diesis in partnership with the Belgian association Communa.
The exposition highlighted the best practices of social economy organizations which have renovated spaces with the use of art and culture to create new environments that have a positive social impact. The exhibition offered a pathway to discover the impact from a cultural, social, and environmental point of view, of those social enterprises who had managed to re-think spaces at the heart of communities. Through visual representations (photographs, plans and videos) participants were able to discover best practices from several EU countries, such as Italy, Belgium, Spain, Poland, and Latvia. The exhibition took place from the 9th to the 12th of June in Maxima, one of the spaces managed by Communa in Brussels.
The inauguration of the exhibition took place in the afternoon of the 9th of June, starting from 4.30 to 7 pm, with a short presentation at 5 pm. During the whole afternoon, people had the opportunity to come and go and visit the exhibition: Diesis staff was always present and prepared to present the cases to the interested audience.
